A cartographer is hired to map a vault that has never been mapped, and discovers within a week that the survey is the point of the trap. Each descent redraws the level behind you, so the map you are paid to produce is obsolete before you carry it out, and the guild that hired you knows this. The story is told through the maps you file and the corrections your predecessors left in the margins.
Deliberate melee combat with a seven-frame parry window and a stamina economy that punishes greed rather than mistakes. Between runs you file a map, and what you record changes which routes generate next time, so mapping is a mechanic and not a menu.
What you record between runs seeds the next layout. An inaccurate map is not punished, it is generated.
Stamina refunds on a clean parry and only on a clean one, which makes aggression a read rather than a resource.
Corrections left by previous surveyors, some helpful, some written by people who wanted you to fail.
Binds for character navigation and positioning.
Attack triggers, secondary aim, and weapon reloads.
Skill activations, ultimate execution, and utility binds.
Scoreboards, mapping widgets, and overlay displays.
Standard match without rank pressure.
Ranked, skill-based lobbies.
Fast matches with random power-ups.
Free-for-all aim training.

"Mapping as a mechanic sounds like a gimmick until the third descent, when you realise you have been lying to yourself in writing."
"The parry window is seven frames and every one of them is legible, which is the highest compliment you can pay a combat system."

It is thirty hours long and roughly twenty-four of them are excellent, which is a better ratio than most of its price bracket.
