The Era of Site Lockdown Has Shifted
Valorant Patch 9.0 has introduced massive balance changes to our favorite Sentinels. Cypher, Killjoy, and Deadlock have all received major updates to their utility, redefining how teams defend objectives and control maps.
1. Cypher: The Spy Remains Supreme
Despite recent adjustments to tripwires, Cypher remains an absolute powerhouse on maps like Sunset and Bind. The key in Patch 9.0 is variation. Using standard setups will get pre-fired; instead, place vertical tripwires or delayed camera traps to catch attackers off-guard.
2. Killjoy: Nanoswarm Mastery
Nanoswarm damage tick-rates have been slightly tweaked. To maximize damage, combine your grenades with Alarmbots or locking cages. Anchoring sites is no longer passive — it requires active positioning and swift timing.
3. Deadlock: The New Anchor
Deadlock has received a significant buff to her Barrier Mesh, making it harder for attackers to burst through with a full-buy. Pair this with Sonic Sensor placements along common flanks to create impenetrable defensive walls.
